There is some nice relaxing death metal going around these days actually, but for relaxation purposes i prefer doom metal, melodic death metal and black metal. Plus the occasional technical death metal song every now and then.

Recommendation: Swedish (so you know it's good metal) band 'Orbit Culture'. Check out songs like Saw, Redfog or Wings of Dragons, these guys deserve way more attention than they get right now \m/ *headbangs away*

Don't think of yourself so special. I had played some dark psychological electronic music to metal heads and sometimes they like it and sometimes they think is too much. Metal is not patient at all to get into your mind slowly.
